A Wood County man faces charges of murdering his brother on Mother’s Day and a Mercer County teen is facing charges in the wounding of another teen. Three more Covid 19 deaths are recorded in West Virginia–including the first in Nicholas County. However, the rate of positive Covid 19 tests continues to hover just above two percent and reopening plans continue. Governor Justice is set to allow for reopening of limited indoor dining at restaurants, specialty retail shops, and several recreational businesses ahead of the Memorial Day weekend next week. Whitewater Rafting however will NOT be part of the reopening. In Sports, baseball players and owners continue to look at how to salvage some kind of a season in what could become a bitter argument.
