CHARLESTON, W.Va. — There have now been 60 COVID-19 deaths in West Virginia. The latest reported by the state Department of Health and Human Resources Thursday morning.
An 81-year-old Jackson County woman died.
“We send our condolences to the family for their profound loss,” DHHR Secretary Bill Crouch said.
It’s the 17th COVID-19 death from Jackson County. Nearly one-third of the 60 deaths have been from Jackson County. Thirteen from the Eldercare nursing home in Ripley.
The coronavirus positive test rate for West Virginia is at 2.08 percent following 68,713 totals tests of which 1,427 have been positive.
