Davis is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end who also plays linebacker. Jackson High School went 11-1 in 2019, advancing to the regional semifinals of the Ohio Division III playoffs.
A dozen FBS programs made offers to Davis, including Arkansas and Tennessee. Davis verbally committed to Cincinnati but reopened his recruitment on April 14. Davis is the second tight end in WVU’s Class of 2021. Viktor Wikstrom of Stockholm, Sweden was the first to commit.
Arizona transfer Scottie Young Jr. and Maryland transfer Bryce Brand also committed to West Virginia this week.
