CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Nearly 80,000 coronavirus tests in West Virginia have come back negative, the state Department of Health and Human Resources announced Wednesday evening.
Of the 1,567 positive tests, 32.6% are active and 46 individuals remain hospitalized. The state has recorded 81,343 laboratory results. The number of positive cases increased by 22.
The positive test rate is 1.93%.
Sixty-nine West Virginians have died; the department noted Wednesday morning the most recent death was a 75-year-old Kanawha County man.
