Two separate shootings are under investigation in Berkeley County and in Kanawha County an elderly man is murdered, apparently by a relative. Covid 19 has dampened Memorial Day events in West Virginia–including one of the biggest at the National Cemetery in Grafton. The parade there is cancelled and the ceremony is scaled down to just a handful to lay a wreath–but visitors are allowed as long as social distance is practiced. Furloughs begin for nearly 900 workers at WVU this week. A beautiful space awaits a monument on the Capitol grounds in Charleston. We look back at a Civil War battle in West Virginia and in sports a well-known foursome raised a ton of money for Covid 19 relief.
