Marshall golfer Kerri Parks cruises to WV Women’s Amateur title

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Marshall University rising senior golfer Kerri Parks cruised to victory in the 97th West Virginia Women’s Amateur Championship at Berry Hills Golf Club in Charleston.

Parks posted a 15-shot victory, finishing the 54-hole event at 3-under. After opening the tournament with a 1-over par round of 71, she closed the event with rounds of 67 and 69. Parks made 10 birdies over the course of the final 2 rounds.

Parks is a native of Flushing, Michigan and is a past champion of the Michigan Women’s Amateur. She posted the top scoring average for Marshall in the 2019-2020 season.

Huntington’s Susan Glasby finished as the runner-up at 12-over. Lauryn Davidson shot a final-round 74 to finish in third place at 16-over.

Hurricane’s Savannah Hawkins was the low junior. She posted a sixth-place finish.
