Darius Stills named Big 12 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Fairmont Senior alumnus and WVU rising senior Darius Stills is the 2020 Big 12 Preseason Defensive Player of the Year.

Stills earned the honor by a vote of media throughout the conference footprint and he was also named to the 14-player preseason defensive team.

The defensive lineman was a First-Team All-Big 12 selection as a junior. Stills racked up 47 tackles (14.5 for loss) and 7 sacks.

Stills has appeared in 33 games at WVU. He graduated from FSHS in 2017 after leading the Polar Bears to the 2016 Class AA state championship game.

The Big 12 preseason media poll will be released Friday afternoon.
