WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. — The state Fire Marshal’s Office released the name Thursday of the man killed last week in a Wood County fire.

According to investigators, Wayne Cunningham, 56, of Williamstown, couldn’t make it out of his residence at 1897 Williams Highway. Two other people inside, Christina Longston, 44, and Stephen Anderson, 62, escaped the July 10 blaze with minor injuries.

Investigators said the cause of the fire is currently undetermined and remains under investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s Office, Wood County Sheriff’s Department, Wood County Fire Investigation Team and state police.
