CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Active COVID-19 cases in West Virginia are at 1,569 heading into the work week, according to information released Sunday evening by the state Department of Health and Human Resources.
Total cases since the pandemic began topped 5,000 Sunday at 5,042, a 120 case increase over the past 24-hours. The recovered cases are at 3,373.
The DNR listed hospitalizations at 76 Sunday evening with 32 patients in ICU and 15 of them being treated on ventilators.
The daily positive test rate for COVID-19 is at 3.20 percent with the overall positive test rate at 2.18 percent after nearly 231,000 tests administered since March.
Deaths associated with COVID-19 remain at 100.
