WAYNE, W.Va. — A man died in a Thursday morning fire in Wayne County.
According to the state Fire Marshal’s Office, Larry Rice, 62, died in the residential fire at 33 Jericho Road.
Investigators said the cause of the fire was accidental. It was caused by a cigarette near an open oxygen tank.
The fire was reported at shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday.
FATALITY: A Wayne man was killed in a house fire early this morning. The fire was accidental in cause due to smoking while on oxygen. The victim is 62 year old Larry Rice. He was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.
