CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state has recorded five COVID-19 deaths in the last two days.
The state DHHR said Tuesday morning it had confirmed the death of a 47-year-old woman from Berkeley County and an 87-year-old woman from Wood County. The deaths of three other women were reported Monday.
“We join with these families as they grieve the loss of their loved ones,” state DHHR Secretary Bill Crouch said.
There have now been 108 COVID-19 deaths in the Mountain State since the pandemic began. There are currently 95 people in the hospital with 37 in ICU with 10 of them on ventilators.
The state’s daily positive death rate is at 2.62 percent with the overall positive test rate after 268,000 tests is 2.68 percent. There are 1,628 active cases.
