Justice fills 16th District House seat

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice is filling a spot in the House of Delegates with someone who isn’t running for the seat in the Nov. 3 General Election.

Justice announced Friday evening that Zachary Perry, of Ona, will be a delegate in the 16th District replacing John Mandt who resigned earlier this month.

The announcement from Justice’s office said Perry will serve the remainder of the unexpired term and is not a candidate in next month’s election.

Mandt–who allegedly made some controversial posts on social media–remains a candidate in the upcoming election and has said he’ll serve is elected.

The 16th District covers parts of Cabell and Lincoln counties.
