Wyoming goes ‘red’ on Monday’s COVID-19 daily map

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Wyoming County went ‘red’ Monday on the daily alert COVID-19 map from the state Department of Health and Human Resources.

The county is reporting ‘red’ levels in both the rolling 7-day average of COVID-19 cases at 28 and a positivity test rate at more than 10%.

While Wyoming County came into ‘red,’ Doddridge County, which was in ‘red’ last week, improved to ‘orange’ Monday with a decreasing positivity test rate.

The DHHR reported 221 new cases Monday but no new deaths. The daily positivity rate is 2.21%. There are 177 people hospitalized, 67 in ICU and 26 patients being treated on a ventilator.

The state is continuing to increase testing. Twenty-two events are scheduled for Monday or Tuesday in Brooke, Berkeley, Braxton, Fayette, Jackson, Kanawha, Marion, Putnam, Cabell, Doddridge, Harrison, Hancock, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Taylor, Upshur, Wayne, and Wirt counties.
