State Police investigating Roane County shooting involving sheriff’s deputy

ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. — A shooting involving a Roane County sheriff’s deputy that ended with a suspect dead was the focus of an investigation from State Police.

Troopers said the shooting happened Thursday night in an area near the Kanawha County line at Kettle Road.

The man killed was not being publicly identified as of Friday morning.

The deputy was on administrative leave pending the results of the State Police investigation.
