CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state Department of Health and Human Resources added nearly 200 cases of COVID-19 to its totals Sunday morning.
The DHHR confirmed 4,829 active cases of the virus in the state. The cumulative percent positive remained nearly the same as Saturday at 2.87%.
One death was confirmed by the agency Sunday to bring the statewide total to 423 deaths. The latest victim was a 70-year old male from Cabell County.
“Each life lost is heartbreaking and we extend our sincere condolences to this family,” said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary in a statement. “Please do your part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
Free COVID-19 testing is available around the state Sunday and Monday.
