DHHR adds more than 660 COVID-19 cases Sunday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources added a daily record of 662 COVID-19 to the state’s total Sunday.

In its daily report, the DHHR confirmed that number of cases to bring the statewide total of active virus cases to 6,870.

The DHHR said there are 288 people currently hospitalized with 79 in ICU. The DHHR confirmed the death of an 83-year old male from Kanawha County as the statewide death total is 502.

In Sunday’s report, the DHHR noted that a death reported Thursday of a 90-year old female from Summers County was ‘erroneously reported Saturday.
