WVU alumni in the NFL – Week 10 update

— By Taylor Kennedy

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — As the 2020 COVID season in the National Football League (NFL) slowly winds down, here are some notable performances by former WVU football players.

Rasul Douglas – Carolina Panthers

Douglas missed the Panthers game in Week 8 due to being on the COVID-19 list, but he returned Sunday and picked up right where he left off. Douglas competed in his 53rd game in the NFL as the Panthers visited the Kansas City Chiefs.

Douglas recorded the third most tackles on the team with five. After recording those tackles, Douglas has now accumulated 32 total tackles (26 solo tackles). He has also posted six pass deflections this season.

Kenny Robinson – Carolina Panthers

Robinson was drafted by the Panthers earlier this spring in the NFL Draft after spending a season in the XFL. In September, Robinson was waived by Carolina, but was then put on the practice squad.

After Panthers veteran, Juston Burris, went down with an injury,  Robinson was set to replace Burris. Robinson made his first career appearance in the NFL back on October 25th.

Robinson appeared in his third game with the Panthers this past Sunday. Robinson has spent the majority of his time with the special teams unit. On Sunday, he assisted on a tackle late in the third quarter alongside Jermaine Carter.

Mark Glowinski – Indianapolis Colts

Glowinski was on the field for 100% of the offensive snaps last night against the Titans, which trickles down to a total of 70 total snaps. He also helped out on the special teams line. He did that six times.

Thursday’s game against the Titans was Glowinski’s 72st career game, and it was his 36th game in a Colts uniform.

Kyzir White – Los Angeles Chargers

White has been on a tear this season, and he continued that for the Chargers yesterday against the Las Vegas Raiders. White recorded five total tackles, three of which were solo tackles. White has posted five or more total tackles in seven straight games.

On the season, White has 62 total tackles, 40 solo tackles, and 3 pass deflections. White continues to produce numbers at high level for the Chargers defense.

Nick Kwiatkoski – Las Vegas Raiders

On the flip side, Kwiatkoski was a huge factor for the Raiders defense, especially late in the game. Kwiatkoski prevented the Chargers from converting a key 2-point conversion around the 9-minute mark in the 4th quarter.

Kwiatkoski led the team in total tackles with 13. After yesterday’s performance, Kwiatkoski has recorded 10+ total tackles in six games in his NFL career.

Yodny Cajuste – New England Patriots

Cajuste has yet to play a game this year due to being on the injury reserve (IR) list.

Trevon Wesco – New York Jets

Wesco has appeared in eight of the nine Jets games this season. He has been on the field in 96 offensive snaps and 34 special teams snaps.

Colton McKivitz – San Francisco 49ers

McKivitz appeared in his eight game last Thursday as the 49ers played the Green Bay Packers. McKivitz spent the majority of his time on the offensive line. He played in 21 snaps, which accounts for 37% of the total snaps by the 49ers.

On the year, McKivitz has played 35 snaps on the offensive line as well as 33 snaps on special teams.

Kevin White – San Francisco 49ers

White was the highest Mountaineer player drafted in the NFL draft during the 2010’s. He was selected 7th overall by the Chicago Bears. Since then, injuries have plagued White’s career in the NFL.

White was picked up by the 49ers back in August, but a few days later he was cut. After he was cut, he was assigned to the practice squad. White was elevated to the team’s active roster back in Week 5 and 6. His first game with the 49ers came against the Dolphins, and he recorded one reception for 20 yards. White has played a total of nine offensive snaps this season.

David Long Jr. – Tennessee Titans

Long has appeared in four games for the team that drafted him back in 2019. He recorded three total tackles Thursday evening against the Indianapolis Colts. On the season, Long has totaled 11 total tackles, including six solo tackles.

Long recorded 29 total tackles last season. In his short career, he has made a name for himself in the NFL posting 40 total tackles.
