Snowshoe delays ski season to Dec. 4

POCAHONTAS COUNTY, W.Va. — Snowshoe Mountain Resort has delayed the start of its ski season until Dec. 4 because of a warm November and forecasted warm temperatures.

“In the meantime, our snowmaking team will make the most of every opportunity Mother Nature gives us. So get those snow dances going and let’s all keep the stoke alive,” the resort tweeted. “After all, some of the snowiest winters we’ve ever had got off to a late start.”

Officials also announced they are still planning to open the mountaintop village for Thanksgiving.
