Search underway following fatal hit-and-run in McDowell County

BRADSHAW, W.Va. — Authorities in McDowell County said a two-year-old child who was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Thanksgiving evening has died.

The collision occurred in the Three Forks area of McDowell County near Bradshaw.

The McDowell Sheriff’s Department is looking for an older model silver SUV with possible front-end damage. The driver was headed toward Buchanan County, Virginia at the time of the collision.

Investigators are seeking the public’s help.
