Elkins head coach Evan Hott steps down after 4 seasons

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Elkins head football coach Evan Hott has stepped down after four seasons leading his alma mater. Hott and all but one member of the coaching staff submitted their resignations on Monday.

Hott led the Tigers to a 6-4 record this season, which included a memorable, 42-27 victory over No. 1 Sissonville in the opening round of the Class AA playoffs. It was the first postseason victory in the history of Tiger football. The Tigers defeated Nicholas County 42-8 in the final week of the regular season to clinch their first playoff berth since 2012.

Hott was a multi-sport standout at EHS and played for his father Greg, who led the Tiger football program from 1997-2016.
