Golden Nugget adds to WV Online Gambling Options

You can add another huge name to the list of licensed online gambling operators in the Mountain State.

Golden Nugget, US gambling giants and market leaders of New Jersey’s online casino market, will partner with The Greenbrier to bring online sports betting and online casino to West Virginians, pending regulatory approval.

The deal represents a massive coup for the online gaming market in West Virginia, which continues to attract interest from operators across both online gambling verticals despite its relatively small population size.

The arrival of Golden Nugget means there will be three online casinos legal in WV, following the launch of DraftKings Casino in July and BetMGM in August.

And its online sportsbook will add to the existing sports betting options in the state which comprise DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, William Hill, and Betly, the online sportsbook offering from Mardi Gras Casino.

Licensed online gambling sites in West Virginia:

Online sportsbooks:

  • DraftKings
  • FanDuel
  • BetMGM
  • William Hill
  • Betly
  • Golden Nugget

Online casinos:

  • DraftKings
  • BetMGM
  • Golden Nugget

According to the information researched by one of the famous online gambling sites www.onlinecasinogames.com, with the rising number and quality of online gambling operators looking to enter the Mountain State, it’s a great time to be an online bettor in WV. It’s also a remarkable turnaround taking into account how online sports betting began.

The market had barely got started after launching in August 2018 before a dispute between Delaware North and software provider, Miomni Gaming led to the suspension of the state’s only mobile app and the entire market coming to a stop.
That false beginning is long forgotten, however.

Today, WV online gambling is upwardly mobile and going in only one direction. The Mountain State posted record iGaming and sports betting figures in September, and despite a drop-off in October, remains one of the leading lights of the US gambling industry.

West Virginia is one of only four states that allow all three forms of online gambling (sports betting, casino, and poker); New Jersey and Pennsylvania are live with all three while Michigan is due to launch online gambling across the board imminently. In the current climate, the attraction of statewide iGaming across all verticals is an attractive proposition for gambling operators.

In addition to market newcomers, Golden Nugget, it’s widely expected, FanDuel will also expand iGaming operations in West Virginia and go head-to-head with market leaders, DraftKings.

The continued growth of online gambling in WV is certainly welcome, especially with Virginia set to get online sports betting early in 2021.

It remains to be if this has any impact on West Virginia but all the while gambling operators as significant as Golden Nugget continue to arrive, the market seems well-placed to keep progressing regardless.
