WVU walk-on class grows as signing period reopens

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The second national signing period for college football opened on Wednesday. Many in-state athletes committed to West Virginia University to accept preferred walk-on opportunities.

Cam Rice (Morgantown High School) – LB

  • Played quarterback, running back and at all three levels of the Mohigan defense in his career.
  • Previously committed to Fairmont State but accepted walk-on opportunity at WVU Tuesday.

Caden Biser (Morgantown High School) – LB

  • 2020 winner of the Chuck Howley Award as the state’s top linebacker
  • 51 tackles in 6-game senior season
  • Father Sean was an offensive lineman at WVU from 1990-1993.

Bryce Biggs (Spring Valley High School) – OL

  • 2020 Class AAA First team all-state offensive lineman.
  • Joins fellow Spring Valley products Wyatt Milum, Doug Nester, Graeson Malashevich and Owen Chafin on the WVU roster.

Joseph Udoh (Nitro High School) – WR

  • Also had walk-on opportunities at Virginia and University of Charleston.
  • 6-foot-9 wideout played one season at Nitro.
  • Honorable mention Class AA all-state selection.

 

 

 

John Marshall’s Dalton Flowers, Huntington’s Eli Archer and South Charleston’s Kevin Tinsley are other West Virginia natives who previously committed to walk-on at WVU in the fall.
