MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. — Some residents of southern West Virginia are having conversations with their insurance agent today. A Thursday storm system which passed over the coalfields dropped hail in a number of locations.
Crystal Blankenship of Mingo County sat on her porch near Delbarton and watched it.
“It wasn’t quite the size of golf balls, but it wasn’t much smaller either. It didn’t last long but there was a lot of it, the ground looked like it had snowed,” she explained.
There were similar reports and social media pictures across southern Wane County and parts of Lincoln County as well.
