MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Verbal commitments continue to filter in and ‘Let’s Go!’ tweets continue to come from the desk of head coach Neal Brown. Alabama wide receiver Jarel Williams announced his intention to join the WVU recruiting Class of 2022 Thursday afternoon. Williams is listed as a 3-star recruit by 247sports.com.
Williams caught 46 passes for 802 yards and 10 touchdowns in his junior season at Saraland High School in Saraland, Alabama. His Spartans went 11-3 this fall, advancing to the AHSAA 6A state semifinals. Williams was named a second-team All-State selection.
The 6-foot-3, 185 pound Williams also plays free safety for the Spartans.

Williams received a scholarship offer from West Virginia on October 29. He also holds offers from eleven other ‘Power 5′ programs’: Colorado, Florida State, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Kentucky, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame and Tennessee.
Air Force, Army, Marshall, Memphis, North Alabama, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, UAB, UCF have also made offers.
Williams is the fourth verbal commitment to WVU’s Class of 2022. He joins Massachusetts offensive lineman Sullivan Weidman, Pittsburgh offensive lineman Charlie Katarincic and Spring Valley TE/DE Corbin Page as future Mountaineers.
