CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Nearly 700,000 West Virginians have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, according to the state Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).
The DHHR reported Sunday that 699, 338 people have gotten at least one shot while 557,644 state residents have been fully vaccinated.
The DHHR confirmed four additional COVID-19 related deaths on Sunday including the deaths of a 63-year old male from Raleigh County, a 43-year old male from Raleigh County, a 73-year old female from Raleigh County and a 78-year old female from Kanawha County.
The statewide death total is now 2,821.
“We remember today the unique burden the pandemic has placed upon children who have suffered loss of a family member,” said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary in a release. “We must do all we can to support them and keep them safe.”
314 new cases of the virus were added in the daily report to mark 7,157 active cases in West Virginia.
