Herbert Hoover improves to 7-0 with DH sweep of Roane

CLENDENIN, W.Va. — Three-time defending Class AA state champion Herbert Hoover upped their record to 7-0 with a doubleheader sweep of Roane County, 7-1 and 16-1 Monday afternoon.

In the opener, the Huskies scored five runs in the first inning and added individual runs in the third and the sixth. Junior pitcher Grayson Buckner struck out eight batters to pick up the victory.

Roane County fell to 6-4 with the two losses.
