Six new deaths reported in Friday’s COVID-19 numbers

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported six additional COVID-19 deaths in numbers released Friday.

Total deaths are now at 2,719 after the confirmed deaths of a 99-year old male from Kanawha County, an 81-year old female from Kanawha County, a 63-year old female from Raleigh County, a 72-year old female from Harrison County, a 76-year old male from Barbour County, and an 82-year old male from Jefferson County.

The DHHR listed active COVID-19 cases at 7,075 Friday. There were 339 new cases reported. Gov. Jim Justice said Friday the average age of those coming down with the virus is now 34.

Hospitalizations were at 241 Friday.
