HARTS CREEK, W.Va. — Investigators with the state Fire Marshal’s Office said it’s going to be difficult to determine what caused a fatal fire in Lincoln County because of the extensive damage to the house.
A 70-year-old man died as a result of the fire at a home near the intersection of state Route 10 and Dry Branch Road in Harts Creek.
Investigators said they aren’t sure if there were smoke alarms in the home.
FATALITY: A 70 YO male died in a house fire in Harts, Lincoln Co overnight. SFMO investigators have ruled the fire’s cause as undetermined due to the significant amount of damage the home received in the fire. Unknown if smoke alarms were installed and /or working. NFI
