Man dies in Lincoln County house fire

HARTS CREEK, W.Va. — Investigators with the state Fire Marshal’s Office said it’s going to be difficult to determine what caused a fatal fire in Lincoln County because of the extensive damage to the house.

A 70-year-old man died as a result of the fire at a home near the intersection of state Route 10 and Dry Branch Road in Harts Creek.

Investigators said they aren’t sure if there were smoke alarms in the home.
