Ohio lineman Maurice Hamilton joins WVU’s Class of 2022

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The first of three anticipated recent verbal commitments to WVU’s Class of 2022 has announced his decision to become a Mountaineer. Cleveland Heights, Oh. native Maurice Hamilton posted his intention to join West Virginia’s roster next fall.

The offensive lineman visited WVU this past weekend and it is expected that two more verbal commitments will soon come from prospects that were in Morgantown for on-campus visits.

Hamilton also plays nose guard at Cleveland Heights High School. The program has gone 15-5 over the past two seasons. Hamilton has earned the nickname ‘Mr. Pancake’ and checks in at 6-foot-4, 340 pounds.

West Virginia presented a scholarship offer to Hamilton on November 13, 2020. He also holds offers from Iowa State, Purdue,  Akron, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Bowling Green, Toledo and Marshall.
