Police investigating discovery of human remains near Morgantown

MORGANTOWN – Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed the discovery of a body along Dug Hill Road just outside of Morgantown.

Investigators from the sheriff’s department and state medical examiner’s office were dispatched Thursday afternoon and the remains in such a state that making an positive identification or even determining the individual’s gender was impossible. Detectives say the individual was wearing a Los Angles Lakers jersey with black sweatpants and appeared to have had dreadlocks.

The remains were transported to the state medical examiner’s office for identification.
