No charges in Lewis County shooting death

COPLEY, W.Va. — No charges have been filed in connection with a shooting death in Lewis County.

According to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, the girlfriend of John Frame shot him during a Saturday afternoon domestic dispute.

Frame, 47, was pronounced dead a short time after the shooting that took place in the Copley area.

A news release said the woman called 911 and told authorities Frame had struck her in the back of the head, kicked her, choked her and said he was going to kill her. She pulled a handgun from her pocket and shot him.

An investigation continues.
