MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — WVU’s next recruiting class has been bolstered by a verbal commitment from a four-star cornerback from South Florida. 6-foot, 178-pound rising senior Jacolby Spells selected West Virginia over other finalists Arizona State, Arkansas, Indiana and Miami.
Spells also holds scholarship offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Georgia Southern, Georgia Tech, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Memphis, Michigan State, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Toledo, Vanderbilt, Virginia, UAB and UCF. He received an offer from West Virginia in May 2020.
