Ohio man in custody for stabbing in Morgantown bar

MORGANTOWN, W.Va.  — An altercation inside a Morgantown bar ended with a man being stabbed in the abdomen.

Morgantown Police responded to a report of a stabbing Friday around 1:20 a.m. at Baby Squirrel Saloon on High Street. Officers arrived and found the victim, a Virginia man injured. No charges were filed against the victim.

Morgantown Fire Department and EMS personnel administered first-aid on scene and the victim was later taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Several eyewitnesses told police the incident happened inside the bar and quickly identified the suspect as James Henderson, 36, of North Canton, Ohio. Henderson was taken into custody and charged with malicious wounding.

Henderson is awaiting arraignment in Monongalia County magistrate court.
