MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — DataRobot, the artificial intelligence company that has announced expansion plans into Morgantown, will hold a job fair Tuesday.
It will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erickson Alumni Center near Ruby Memorial Hospital.
DataRobot announced its plans for a Morgantown site last month. DataRobot Vice President of Public Health and Health Technologies Sally Embry said artificial intelligence is a profession that garners a lot of interest.
“We have some of the high-tech roles- looking for engineers and AI specialists,” Embry said Monday on MetroNews “Talkline.” “But, we’re also looking for accounting managers and back-end support.”
Since the initial announcement was made in early June the company has been very busy looking for the right people to put the right positions, Embry said.
“We have already had 200 applicants to our Morgantown office and we’re actively interviewing 40 people right now and we’ve already hired three people as well, so we’re already starting to hire, we’re already building out our office and we’re excited to add more to the team,” Embry said.

The company is looking for people with a strong work ethic that are will to help develop an emerging field.
“Driven, hard-working people who want to push the boundaries of what they can do. So, it’s not just about your background and education, it’s really about your drive and your vision toward the future.”
Currently, the company has 21 openings to fill, and they hope to accomplish that through events like the one that’s scheduled Tuesday.
“Just bring your resume, have a smile on your face and be ready to talk to some folks,” Embry said. “They’ll direct you to the right person to chat with and we look forward to meeting everyone.”
DataRobot uses software that automates many tasks that were once done manually by data scientists to meet complex challenges. However, as a company they also need all of the other disciplines to run a business, Embry said.
