CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state listed 43 cases of the Delta variant of COVID-19 in Tuesday’s updated case numbers.
Those 43 cases are in 16 different counties with Berkeley County having the most with 13 cases.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported 1,656 active COVID-19 cases Tuesday including 189 newly confirmed cases. No deaths were added for a second consecutive day.
Hospitalizations for COVID-19 jumped to 111 in Tuesday’s report, the highest number in the past six weeks.
The state now says 56.2% of state residents over the age of 12 have been fully vaccinated against the virus.
