Minor flooding predicted on Potomac River at Shepherdstown

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — The National Weather Service is forecasting minor flooding on the Potomac River at Shepherdstown for early Friday morning.

The river is expected to crest at 15.7 feet at just after midnight. Flood stage at Shepherdstown is 15 feet.

The Potomac has swollen after heavy rains Wednesday from the remnants of Hurricane Ida.

The flood warning is in effect until late Friday morning.
