One dead in Boone County hit and run

MADISON, W.Va. — Boone County Deputies are on the hunt of a vehicle involved in a fatal hit and run accident in the community of Ottawa early Wednesday morning.

Sheriff Chad Barker said the victim was a 34-year old man who was walking along Route 17 when he was struck about 4 a.m. The vehicle left he scene.

Barker said investigators believe the suspect drove a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and it will have the passenger side mirror missing.

“Anybody with any information we’re asking to calf into our 9-1-1 center and again, we’re not sure if the person was hit intentionally. It’s important we identify the driver and figure out the circumstances,” he said.
