Police probe Morgantown stabbing

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Detectives are investigating an early Thursday morning stabbing in downtown Morgantown, the second stabbing in less than two weeks.

At just before 1 a.m., police identified a man in the 300 block of High Street who had suffered cuts to his chest and arms. Members of the Morgantown Parking Authority provided first aid before the unidentified victim was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

The name of the victim has yet to be released.

Police have charged Elijah Older, 21, of Arundel, Maine, has been charged with malicious assault.

Meanwhile, an investigation continues into a Sept. 13, which also took place in the same area of High Street.

No arrests have been made in that stabbing.
