Search for missing Harrison County woman continues

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Family and friends of a Harrison County woman are continuing to search for her after she went missing off of the coast of North Carolina.

Savannah Jane Grant was canoeing with her boyfriend Jason Quickle, friend John Pearson and a dog in the Ocracoke Inlet of the Outer Banks when a large wave struck their canoe.

Authorities rescued Quickle and Pearson on Sunday. Pearson told authorities he last saw Grant and the dog alive on Sunday. Family members said Grant was wearing a life jacket at the time.

The U.S. Coast Guard suspended the search on Monday. Family members and friends began their search on Tuesday.
