State trooper arrested on domestic battery charge

PINEVILLE, W.Va. — A state police trooper has been charged with domestic battery in Wyoming County.

A news release from Pineville Police Chief Zack Helmandollar said Trooper James Bradford Fox was arrested after a domestic disturbance Thursday in Pineville.

“As it is Domestic Violence awareness month, the Pineville Police Department ask that you keep in mind domestic violence is never acceptable and impacts people of all walks of life and victims are encouraged to report abuse to the proper authorities,” Chief Helmandollar’s news release said.

Fox was arraigned and posted bond.

A state police spokesman told MetroNews Trooper Fox was placed on administrative leave pending the results of both the criminal and internal investigation.
