Stonewood stabbing suspect captured in South Carolina

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. – The suspect in a recent Harrison County stabbing has been arrested in South Carolina.

Authorities said Dalton Richards, 26, was taken into custody Thursday.

Richards is accused of stabbing Zack Ables multiple times last Sunday. Ables was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. Authorities haven’t released his condition.

In addition to charges in Harrison County,  authorities said Richards will face other unspecified charges in South Carolina. Richards will eventually agree to or fight extradition to West Virginia.

The U.S. Marshals Service assisted in the apprehension for Richards, Harrison County authorities said.
