Crews battle overnight forest fire at Cacapon State Park

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — A Thursday night fire in Morgan County included woodlands of Cacapon State Park.

Crews were able to finally bring the fire under control and get it out aro8und 10 p.m. on Thursday. The fire came as the region is under a high wind and fire advisory. Winds shipped the flames withi8n the park, but fire crews were able to contain it before it got worse.

“Say a quick prayer for our first responders. Brush fire at Cacapon State Park and we are under a wind advisory,” Morgan County Commissioner Joel Tuttle wrote on Facebook Thursday night.
