CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Active cases of the coronavirus rose slightly in Sunday’s report by the state Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).
The DHHR confirmed 9,149 active cases after 901 new cases were received since the previous report on Friday. 9,092 active cases were reported Friday.
No new COVID-19 related deaths were confirmed Sunday. The statewide death total stands at 5,164.
West Virginia recorded its first omicron variant case on Thursday. State officials said it’s from Marion County.
Hospitalizations were listed at 631 on Sunday’s dashboard report with 204 patients in ICU and 112 on ventilators.
