Huntington authorities seize drugs, arrest multiple people following investigation

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Multiple people are behind bars following an investigation in which Huntington authorities seized narcotics and other items.

The Huntington Violent Crime Drug Task Force and the Huntington Police Department’s SWAT Team searched a residence in the 2100 block of Jefferson Avenue on Dec. 29 as part of an ongoing drug investigation. Authorities seized more than 500 grams of heroin, marijuana, crack cocaine and suboxone, as well as cash and materials used to package and distribute drugs.

Scott Fortner Jr., 34, has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Huntington authorities have made several arrests since the search.

During a search on Wednesday, authorities arrested 42-year-old Philip Rucker, who was wanted on two active warrants in Cabell County. Rucker, who is originally from Missouri, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Investigators seized more than 1,000 grams of heroin and fentanyl, methamphetamines, two firearms, two vehicles, cash and materials used in processing and distributing narcotics.
