GREENBRIER COUNTY, W.Va. — Unions representing workers of The Greenbrier are working with the resort to reach a new collective bargaining agreement after failing to ratify a new contract.
The Greenbrier Council of Labor Unions and The Greenbrier Hotel Corporation have been negotiating a new agreement since late January in hopes of reaching a new deal that would go through April 2025. Workers failed to approve an agreement Thursday.
The coalition represents eight different bodies:
— The Mid-Atlantic Regional Joint Board of Workers United, Local 863.
— United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local Union 439.
— Communications Workers of America.
— International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees & Moving Picture Machine Operators of the United States, AFL-CIO.
— International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 466, AFL-CIO.
— Liuna Local 1353, West Virginia AFL-CIO.
— International Union of Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 53, Local Union 970.
— United Association of Journeymen, Plumbers and Pipefitters and Apprentices, Local Union 625.
The unions and the White Sulphur Springs resort have agreed to extend the current agreement as discussions continue.
