MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Morgantown claimed an 8-7 victory against Wheeling Park in walk-off fashion Wednesday as Jocelyn McCartney belted a game-winning double to lift the Mohigans (12-9-1) over the Patriots (10-17) in the Class AAA Region I, Section 1 opener for both teams.
The Mohigans travel to top seed John Marshall for a winner’s bracket contest Thursday, while WPHS looks to avoid elimination at home against Brooke.
