Photo gallery: Morgantown and University claim Class AAA Region I track titles

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Morgantown girls and University boys claimed Class AAA Region I team track championships Thursday at West Virginia University.

Of note, Wheeling Park sophomore Jerrae Hawkins set a personal best in the 100 meter run (10.45). He also won the 200 meters and ran the anchor leg in Park’s 4×100 meter relay team.

University High School’s Josh Edwards claimed titles in the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter runs. Morgantown’s Irene Riggs also swept her three races in the distance events.
