Huntington men face charges for Friday robbery

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Authorities have arrested two men allegedly involved in an armed robbery of a Huntington store.

Tyler Workman, 25, and 23-year-old Johnathon Owens — both of Huntington — face first-degree robbery charges for the Friday robbery at the King Mart located on Washington Boulevard.

The men also allegedly robbed a Marathon gas station in South Point, Ohio. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office arrested Workman at the scene as Owens escaped authorities.

Huntington authorities on Monday learned that Owens was dropped off at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of 5th Avenue. After a short foot pursuit, officers arrested Owens. He faces an additional charge of obstructing an officer.

Workman needs to be extradited to Cabell County for the May 13 robbery.
