Randolph County man arrested on charges of sexual abuse

HUTTONSVILLE, W.Va. — A Randolph County man is behind bars facing charges of sexual assault.

Deputies arrested Steven David Anderson on three counts of sexual abuse this week.

Investigators say the charges were developed after a woman came to them in May claiming she had been sexually abused along with another woman by Anderson.  The victims were biological and adoptive children of Anderson.  The women were now adults, but claimed the crimes had occurred while they were children.

The alleged abuse came over a ten year period. Deputies said they investigated the claims and interviewed a number of people in the case. Authorities say those questioned were “detailed and descriptive” about the nature of the alleged crimes.

The findings were documented in a criminal complain filed in Randolph County Magistrate Court June 21st. At that time a warrant was issued for Anderson’s arrest. on charges of sexual abuse by a parent/guardian or custodian.

He’s lodged in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail awaiting a preliminary hearing.
