Huntington police arrest man for June shooting

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Huntington Police Department announced Thursday that officers have arrested a man in connection with a June 27 shooting.

Valendale Jerome Herron, 22, of Detroit has been charged with malicious wounding and armed robbery in connection with the incident.

Herron was on home confinement for a previous armed robbery case at the time of the shooting.

The crime victim remains hospitalized but their condition has improved.
